Terms of use

Last updated 28 October 2026.

In short

  • These terms are between you and [Company legal name].
  • Telling people and getting consent is your job. The lens reminds you; it doesn't do it for you.
  • AI makes mistakes. Check anything that matters.
  • Cancel any time. We never train AI on your data.

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are between you and [Company legal name]. Sotto runs on Even Realities glasses, but Even Realities is not part of this agreement and is not responsible for Sotto, and we're not responsible for Even's glasses, app or Hub.

The service

Sotto is an assistant for classes, meetings and conversations on Even Realities G2 glasses. It is in beta: it will sometimes be wrong, slow or unavailable.

Your account

You must be 18 or older and in the United States. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Sotto hears everyone near you while a session is on. Before you start a Meeting or Conversation, you must tell the people there and get any agreement the law requires. In some US states (including California, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, Oregon, Pennsylvania and Washington) and in many countries, everyone must agree. In Louisiana, everyone must be told when glasses are transcribing. If anyone objects, you must stop. You must not hide that Sotto is on, and you must not use it where recording isn't allowed (exams, medical, legal, therapy, HR or disciplinary meetings, bathrooms or changing rooms) unless everyone there has agreed. Sotto's reminders help; they don't do this for you. Read Recording and consent.

Acceptable use

Don't: record anyone secretly or without the agreement the law requires; record children without a parent's or guardian's agreement; use Sotto in exams or graded work where it isn't allowed; identify, track or profile people by their voice; sell, publish or share other people's words or a professor's lectures; add content you don't have the right to use; or try to break, overload or get around the service. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and we may cooperate with lawful requests.

Your content

Your notes, Memory and classes are yours. You give us permission to process them only to run the service for you.

Files you add. When you add a file (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, images) or a note, you promise you're allowed to use it this way, including under any confidentiality duty you have, such as an NDA or your employer's or school's rules. Don't add anything you aren't allowed to share with the providers listed on our Subprocessors page.

If something goes wrong because of how you used Sotto

If someone makes a claim against us because you recorded them without the agreement the law requires, added something you had no right to, or broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees. This doesn't apply to the extent the claim was caused by our own fault.

AI makes mistakes

Answers, nudges, write-ups and Memory can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, including about people. Check anything that matters before you rely on it. Sotto doesn't give medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.

Using your own keys

When you add your own OpenRouter, Soniox or Tavily key, requests made for you run on your account with that provider, under its terms, prices and data settings. We still send every AI request with zero-retention routing switched on, and we never send your data anywhere else. But settings in your own provider account (for example, logging in OpenRouter, or Tavily's "allow use of query data") apply to those requests, and we can't see or change them; switch them off if you don't want them. You pay the provider directly, and we're not responsible for its charges, limits or outages. We store your keys encrypted, use them only to run your requests, never show them again, and delete them when you remove them or delete your account.

Plans, renewal and cancelling

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel. You can cancel any time in Settings; your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. We'll email you before any price change, at least 30 days ahead. Plans are managed on this website, not in the glasses app.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows: our total liability to you for all claims about Sotto is limited to the greater of $100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example lost profits). Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for fraud or gross negligence.

Disputes

Pennsylvania law applies. Before going to court, email us and give us 30 days to try to fix it. Either of us may use small-claims court. Otherwise, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings; everything is deleted at once from the live service. If we close a paid account for reasons other than a breach of these terms, we'll refund the unused part of the period and give you 14 days to export first.

Changes

We'll email you at least 30 days before a change to these terms that matters. We will never use a terms change to start training AI on your data or to start selling it.
